Fergus Ewing the SNP member for Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber in the Scottish Parliament has confirmed that he will officially open and meet exhibitors at the Aviemore Trade Show on the 26 April.
This is a great boost for exhibitors, who, during this tough economic climate, have taken the decision to attend the show, and market their products to the thousands of global buyers who are expected to attend.
50% of exhibitors will not be seen elsewhere at other trade events – selecting Aviemore Trade Show as their one and only choice for promoting their brand, and, of course, ‘brand Scotland’.
They feel this is the most effective route to market for the diverse range of contemporary and traditional items they offer, to the wide audience of retail buyers who are virtually guaranteed to source products here which they won’t see at any other show. To date, products encompass everything from glass to textiles, confectionery to jewellery, maps and even soap!
Strategically timed (post Easter) the show is providing the ideal opportunity for the buyer to order for the summer and beyond. This year, with the weak pound, together with ‘Homecoming Scotland’ reinforcing the heritage and tradition of Scottish producers, it is expected that even more buyers from overseas will be attracted to the show.
Organiser Gail Steele, says “We are over the moon that Mr Ewing is taking time out from his busy schedule to open the show. Our exhibitors invest a lot of time and effort into attending – this year we have companies not only exhibiting for the first time, but also launching their companies - a major step of confidence in the economy and the show – support from a high profile person such as Mr Ewing can only help in pushing out the message that Scotland has so much more to offer from our talented producers, than ‘shortbread and tartan’.”
Ms Steele continues, “A warm welcome is assured together with good old-fashioned highland hospitality. Aviemore is always referred to as THE friendly Scottish show where not all business takes place in the arena - buyers and exhibitors are also provided with opportunities to network out-of-hours.”
